Missile dredge

Gold and diamond dredging with a missile dredge is a method of extracting valuable minerals from the bottom of rivers or streams using specialized equipment. The process involves the use of various tools and machines to extract the minerals and separate them from other materials like sand and gravel.

Missile Dredge: A missile dredge is a type of dredging vessel that uses a high-pressure water cannon to blast sediment and rocks off the riverbed. This dredge is connected in front of the sluichbox barge.

Classifier: A classifier is a device used to sort materials by size. In gold and diamond dredging, classifiers are used to separate larger rocks and debris from the finer sediments.

Jigs: Jigs are mechanical devices that use pulsating water to separate minerals from sediment. They work by creating a back-and-forth motion that allows heavier minerals to settle to the bottom.

Sorting Tray: A sorting tray is a shallow, flat container used to sort materials by size and weight. In gold and diamond dredging, sorting trays are often used to manually separate valuable minerals from other materials.

Shaking Table: A shaking table is a device that uses vibration to separate minerals based on their density. It works by creating a side-to-side motion that allows heavier minerals to settle to the bottom.

Gravel Pump: A gravel pump is a high-powered pump used to suction up sediment and gravel from the riverbed. It is typically used in conjunction with a dredge.

Gold Concentrator: A gold concentrator is a machine used to separate gold particles from other minerals. It works by using centrifugal force to separate the heavier gold particles from lighter materials.

Sluice Box: A sluice box is a long, narrow box used to capture and separate minerals from sediment. It works by creating a gentle flow of water that allows heavier minerals to settle to the bottom.

Screening/Trommel: Screening and trommel machines are used to sift through sediment and separate valuable minerals from other materials. They work by using a rotating drum with small holes that allows smaller particles to fall through while larger materials are retained.
